In what appears to be a never-ending toddler tantrum, Drumpf again lashes out at a critic and attempts to hand-wave away his awful behavior. I’m posting this not because I want to give a crap about Donald Drumpf’s Twitter feed or his feelings, but because this man is our next President. The American electorate put this man in office. As such, I feel it’s important to make sure we understand who and what this guy is.
At the 2017 Golden Globes, Meryl Streep spoke out against Drumpf and the antics of his campaign, specifically highlighting his mocking of the disabled reporter, Serge Kovaleski. Watch her speech from the 3:21 timestamp here:
Hours later, Drumpf hopped onto Twitter to blast Streep as a “Hillary flunky”:
I think it’s particularly telling how effective Drumpf’s “air quotes” are at letting us know when he’s full of crap. The word “groveling” belongs in quotes because that’s not what he was conveying at his rally when he convulsed, curled his arms, and made the “I’m a retard” voice when speaking about Kovaleski. This isn’t what groveling looks like! This, as anyone who has ever gone to middle school knows, is the universal gesture indicating that you’re openly mocking someone who you feel is stupid or disabled. Groveling looks completely different and Donald J. Drumpf, PEOTUS, doesn’t know what words mean. To jog your memory, here’s video of the moment:
Drumpf had already weaseled out of this with his voters by claiming he had never met or seen Kovaleski and wouldn’t have known that he was disabled, but all reports indicate the contrary – that Drumpf knew exactly who this reporter was and had met him numerous times. In addition, the story he referenced never substantiated claims that hundreds or thousands of Muslims were celebrating the fall of the WTC and Kovaleski had never changed his story. Of course, a blubbering denial was all his voters needed to start accusing the mainstream media (MSM) of bias and lies. He will continue to wave away everything he says and does and his voter base will continue to eat it up and live in denial of the terrible legacy this petty child is already leaving for the office of the President of the United States. We can’t be happy with this. We can’t be complacent about this. We can’t let this be the new America.
As always, he may have won the Electoral votes he needed to get into office but Drumpf will forever be #NotMyPresident.
